- Load test: verify the forklift can lift and hold its rated capacity safely

How Usage Affects the Schedule

- Heavy use (200+ hours/month): Move to a bi-monthly intermediate service and semi-annual full PM
- Multi-shift operations: Schedule PM based on hours, not calendar time — every 250 operating hours is a common benchmark
- Harsh environments: Dusty, wet, or cold environments require more frequent filter changes and lubrication
- Electric forklifts: Battery maintenance is critical — check water levels weekly and equalize charge monthly
